Bank of Israel details digital shekel factors
ECB and Fed CBDC decisions will affect decision to proceed with issuance
The Bank of Israel has specified the factors it is evaluating on whether to issue a digital shekel, highlighting how decisions by the US Federal Reserve, European Central Bank and other institutions will affect its decision to proceed.
The Bank of Israel specifically noted progress on central bank digital currency (CBDC) by the ECB, the Fed, the Bank of Canada, Sveriges Riksbank, the Bank of England, the National Bank of Denmark and the Reserve Bank of Australia.
