Central bank says building digital currency for public use will be much harder than testing
The Bank of Japan has said significant work lies ahead before a central bank digital currency can be rolled out for public use in the country.
In a report published on September 11, the BoJ stressed that the CBDC systems it had piloted to date were not up to the technical specifications needed for a full public rollout.
