ECB president warns shortage of high-technology skills threatens continent’s digital transition
European firms must embrace artificial intelligence “deeply” and “intensively’” if the continent is to accelerate its digital transformation, Christine Lagarde has said.
In a speech to the European Parliament’s economic and monetary affairs committee in Brussels on September 28, the European Central Bank president said AI would need to spread “beyond a small group of technology leaders”.
The ECB president pointed to findings from the central bank’s 2025 survey on access to finance for businesses
