ECB president says domestic barriers must be lifted so start-ups can drive innovation
The president of the European Central Bank has said the continent must leverage its biggest asset – the world’s largest single market – so that it does not miss out on the “second digital revolution”.
Speaking on a panel today (August 19) at the World Economic Forum’s International Business Council in Geneva, Christine Lagarde said hurdles holding back integration of the single market and cross-border capital flows threaten Europe’s role as a global innovator and economic powerhouse.
