Sometimes innovation arrives a little too early. “You’re nuts, get out of my office”, was the reaction Gabriel Abed received when pitching his idea in 2014 to then-governor of the Central Bank of Barbados DeLisle Worrell.
Abed is the founder of Bitt, a Barbados-based firm hoping to become the digital currency provider for central banks worldwide.
The 32-year-old received a bachelor’s in information technology from the University of Canada and majored in network security and cryptographic
