External review of the RBA to begin next month – Lowe

Governor tells MPs the central bank wants to identify opportunities for improvement

The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) will undergo an external review to assess the efficiency of its operations later this year, the governor of the central bank has announced.

Speaking before members of parliament today (February 24), Philip Lowe said the review would focus "primarily on operation and administrative matters" and not the RBA's policy frameworks.

"We want to make sure we are continuously improving as an organisation and we are seeking outside assistance to identify opportunities
