External review recommends Bank of Finland expand its research unit

Bank should revise its approach to publishing research, researchers say

The Bank of Finland should increase the size of its research unit and make a number of changes in its policy on publications, an external evaluation of its economic research, published today (December 18), has said.

The evaluation was conducted by three economics professors: Mikko Puhakka, of the business school of the University of Oulu, Rafael Repullo, of the centre for monetary and financial studies (CEMFI) in Madrid and Carl Walsh, of the University of California, Santa Cruz.
