Few US low-wage workers progress in labour market – Fed research

Only 5% had a better job within one year, and the group is more likely to become unemployed

Only a small minority of low-wage workers in the US find better jobs, and they are more likely to become unemployed than other groups, according to research published by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

The researchers use data covering the post-crisis recovery (2011–17) and study short-term labour market evolutions
