Time saved by AI does not increase output – BoK study

Paper says technology has reached efficiency stage but not productivity stage

Bank of Korea research has found that the time saved by using artificial intelligence in the workplace does not translate into productivity gains. 

The paper, published on June 9, finds that AI adoption reduces work time in South Korea by 3.9% or 1.5 hours per week. The authors – BoK researchers Donghyun Suh, Samil Oh and Jongwon Yoon – say this is particularly true among lower-skilled workers and those who make heavy use of the technology. 

However, they also find no correlation between this
