Angola cuts rates as inflation reaches 11-year low

Central bank says ‘no inflationary pressures in sight’ over coming months

The National Bank of Angola on July 14 eased policy by 125 basis points to 15.75%, in its second rates reduction of 2026. The decision was more than double the 50bp cut made in May, with the bank citing lower inflation and an improving economic outlook as justification.

The bank said in a statement that a deceleration in price growth had been seen across the country, with 10 provinces recording inflation in single digits. Annual inflation fell from 10.88% in May to 10.11% in June, its lowest
