Bank of England forms new enforcement committee

The Bank of England has formed a new committee to issue rulings on any enforcement activities that are contested by firms or individuals.

The BoE unveiled the Enforcement Decision Making Committee today (August 3), following a recommendation from the UK Treasury.

However, while the original proposal focused only on prudential regulation, the BoE decided the EDMC’s remit should cover all its enforcement activities, relating to financial market infrastructures, resolution and note issuance as
