CNB joins Europe’s bank regulators to warn of crypto risks
Consumer interest driven partly by ‘aggressive’ promotion on social media, say authorities
The Czech National Bank (CNB) has joined the European Union’s top banking regulators in urging consumers to exercise caution over crypto investments.
In a joint statement on October 6, the European Banking Authority, the European Supervisory and Markets Authority (Esma) and the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority said that while “innovative financial products” could enhance the efficiency, resilience and competitiveness of the EU’s financial system, people should be aware of
