Central Bank of Brazil forms CBDC working group

The Central Bank of Brazil has created a working group on creating a central bank-issued digital currency (CBDC), it announced on August 20.

The working group will also assess how the introduction of a CBDC could enhance the benefits offered by the instant payments platform Pix, which the central bank is launching in November.
