Thailand’s Trairatvorakul on policy direction in 2011

Prasarn Trairatvorakul, the governor of the Bank of Thailand, on Wednesday said prosperity in Thailand during 2011 required a collective effort from all participants in the economy.

In Bangkok, Thailand, Trairatvorakul said: "While monetary and financial stability certainly provide a favourable backdrop, the economy cannot prosper on the back of these alone. The nation's competitiveness, in particular, needs to be strengthened and improved further."
