ECB’s Stark: global economy is heading for lost decade

Jürgen Stark, a member of the executive board at the ECB, has argued that unless a number of problems are addressed the global economy may be heading towards a "lost decade" for the global economy warning that distortions that led to the global imbalances are still present.

In a speech delivered to the NABE Economic Policy Conference in Arlington, Virginia last Monday, Stark warned that advanced economies face the prospect of a protracted period of sluggish growth. According to a recent OECD
