Sarb establishes anonymous whistleblowing hotline
New external hotline provides facility for the public to report misconduct to the central bank
The South African Reserve Bank has established a facility to allow whistleblowers to report wrongdoing relating to the business of the central bank in an anonymous manner, it said on October 11.
Sarb employees already had access to an internal whistleblowing process, but the central bank is now opening it up so that members of the public can report wrongdoing. It has also moved the service to an external operator.
