Yellen must overcome deputies’ curse to take Fed chair

Janet Yellen and Lawrence Summers appear to be the two front runners in the race to become the next chairman of the Federal Reserve. Both have the academic and practical qualifications necessary for the job, and US President Barack Obama, who will make the ultimate decision later this year, has said one "would have to slice the salami very thin" to find any policy differences.
