Iran’s central bank needs greater independence: research group

The Central Bank of Iran requires greater independence over monetary policy if it wants to tackle soaring inflation, an Iranian parliamentary research centre said on Friday.

The Public Relations Research Centre of the Office for Economic Studies in Iran published the results of a test measuring the central bank's independence from government and found the central bank scored only 31%.
