Advisers to the likely US presidential candidate Donald Trump are planning to significantly limit the Federal Reserve’s independence, the Wall Street Journal has reported.

There is a “deepening divide” among Trump’s advisers over whether he should challenge the Fed’s independence if he won a second term. But some, including those who served in his presidential administration, have written a plan giving several options to do so, the newspaper reported on April 25.
