Facebook, LinkedIn, and X (formerly Twitter) are the three most-used social media platforms for central banks’ external communications, according to the Communications Benchmarks 2024.
Among 31 central banks with a presence on social media, 18 (58%) report that Facebook is one of the platforms they use most prominently for external communications, making it the top social platform used by central banks.
