Sweden cuts rates while Norway holds

Norges Bank warns slowing disinflation may mean maintaining rates for longer than it expected

Sveriges Riksbank has cut its policy rate while Norges Bank is holding its rate at 4.5%, the central banks announced on May 8 and May 3, respectively.

Both banks cited persistent US inflation, diverging monetary policy perspectives across the Atlantic and geopolitical risks as contributing factors to their decisions.
