People: BoK appoints new reserves chief; Fed staffer returns to head up Riksbank research

South Korea: The Bank of Korea (BoK) has appointed Chae Sun-Byoung as head of its reserve management group, the central bank has confirmed. Chae, currently head of the BoK's New York office, will succeed Choo Heung Sik, who moved to become chief investment officer at the country's sovereign wealth fund earlier this year.

Chae, who will take up his new role in mid-May according to local sources, has served the central bank for more 30 years. After working in the investment strategy and risk
