All regional Fed heads reappointed for five-year terms

Renewals of presidents’ and vice-presidents’ terms allay fears of political interference

The Federal Reserve Board has announced that all the presidents and first vice-presidents of its regional branches will be reappointed for five-year terms starting on March 1, 2026.

The Fed said on December 11 that each branch’s board of directors had begun the process of assessing whether the officials’ terms would be renewed last December. All of the officials’ current terms had been set to expire on February 28, 2026.
