ECB looks to simplify bank regs, supervision and reporting
Recommendations include merged buffers, lesser reporting burdens and an easier life for smaller banks
The European Central Bank has published its recommendations for updated rules governing lenders in the eurozone.
The ECB’s governing council endorsed the report by the bank’s “high-level task force” on improving macro-prudential policy ahead of its publication on December 11. The ECB on the same day published recommendations on increasing supervisory efficiency and focusing on “relevant risks” while remaining “effective”.
The European Systemic Risk Board (ESRB) on December 11 also issued
