Kristin Forbes urges academics to focus on macro-prudential policy

Former Bank of England policy-maker Kristin Forbes argues academics ought to pay more attention to macro-prudential policy in a forthcoming paper in the American Economic Review.

Forbes, a professor at MIT, says “few academics have yet ventured” into the field of macro-prudential policy – an area that is alien to many and rarely covered in graduate courses.
