Central bank dismisses concerns that semiconductor business cycle has peaked

The Bank of Korea has said that semiconductors are undersupplied globally and that it expects the artificial intelligence-driven business “supercycle” to continue for some time.

“While semiconductor demand has surged significantly due to investments in [AI] infrastructure, the pace of supply expansion has been slow,” the BoK said in a written response to a lawmaker’s questions on the topic, Yonhap reported today (July 13).
