Paper calls for ’systematic monitoring’ of cyber risks

Non-financial firms’ credit risk indicators not accounting for ‘sharp increase’ in incidents, say authors

A new paper from the Bank of Italy argues that non-financial firms’ vulnerabilities to cyber attacks are not being adequately integrated into assessments of their creditworthiness.

In their paper, published on January 19, researchers Francesco Columba, Manuel Cugliari, Marco Orlandi and Federica Vassalli develop a large language model-based index for measuring cyber risk.
