Bank of Mexico revises upwards its economic forecasts

Inflation projected to return to 3% target in 2018 and growth to be higher than expected, says governor

Mexico is likely to record lower inflation and higher growth in 2017 and 2018 than previously expected, Agustín Carstens, governor of the Bank of Mexico, said in a speech on August 31.

As US president Donald Trump’s trade and migration policies remain blurred, the Mexican economy has found room to make up some of the lost ground from last year.
