Financial education hits the golf course in Kenya
Central bank uses tournament to tee up domestic bond market
Sporting and community events can be effective platforms for financial education, says the Central Bank of Kenya, which recently hosted a golf tournament to demystify investing in government securities.
The bank’s branch in the city of Kisumu hosted the tournament on July 24–25 at the Nyanza Club, a private members club. It advertised the event via a post on social media, in which it invited participants to “learn how to invest in government securities through DhowCSD while enjoying the golf
