Fiji launches first all-polymer banknote series
Crane Currency supplies five denominations that will enter circulation in January
Fiji’s central bank has launched a series of five new polymer banknotes that it says represent the country’s national identity and incorporate leading security features.
The country’s president, Naiqama Lalabalavu, unveiled the notes with denominations ranging between FJ$5 ($2.2) and FJ$100 at a ceremony today (December 2) in the capital Suva. According to a statement from the Reserve Bank of Fiji, Lalabalavu said the new banknotes would be printed on polymer. Currently, only the FJ$5 note is
