SNB opens poll on altitude-themed banknotes

Central bank asks public for views on designs based on Switzerland's ‘unique topography’

Switzerland’s central bank today (August 13) opened a public consultation into the proposed designs for its new series of banknotes.

The Swiss National Bank (SNB) has set up a website to showcase the concepts that have been submitted by 12 teams of designers.

The designs are all on the theme of ‘Switzerland and its altitudes’. The SNB said the theme pays homage to the country’s “unique topography, from the Jura and the Central Plateau to the Alps” and “depicts Switzerland from its deepest valleys
