Sanctioned ex-Bank of Russia official takes up IMF role in US

Former deputy governor Ksenia Yudaeva now reportedly working for institution in Washington

A former Bank of Russia deputy governor who has been sanctioned by the US is now working for the International Monetary Fund in Washington.

Russia’s state news agency Tass reported on February 11 that Ksenia Yudaeva, Russia and Syria’s representative to the IMF’s executive board, had started in-person work.

An IMF spokesperson reportedly told the agency that Yudaeva was “personally performing her duties” at the fund’s headquarters in Washington.

In December last year, an IMF spokesperson said that
