Daniel Mminele encourages reserve managers to focus on ‘investment horizon’
Reserve managers should focus on the "investment horizon" rather than annual outcomes to reap the benefits of a prospective rate hike in the US, according to a South African Reserve Bank (Sarb) deputy governor.
Speaking in Tanzania on December 1, Daniel Mminele emphasised the move towards higher rates in the US will "provide an opportunity for reserves managers to invest in higher yielding but safer investments".
