Cœuré warns of threat of regulatory arbitrage on OTC derivatives

ECB executive board member Benoît Cœuré today highlighted areas for further work in reforming over-the-counter derivatives, emphasising insufficient transparency, remaining challenges in central clearing, and inconsistencies in cross-border application.

In a speech at a joint Banque de France, Bank of England and ECB conference on OTC derivatives reform in Paris, Cœuré said no authority yet has "a complete overview of the risks in OTC derivatives markets or is able to examine the global network
