Fed’s Duke announces steps to improve data needs on SME lending

Elizabeth Duke, a governor of the Federal Reserve, on Monday discussed the need for better data and analysis to monitor and understand small business credit flows.

At a meeting in Washington, Duke said: "As a research institution, the Fed is always looking for opportunities to improve data, we already have taken a number of steps in this direction."

Duke outlined a number of measures taken by the Fed to improve lending to small businesses including:

· increasing the frequency of its call
