Malaysia’s Zeti: bond market key to keeping savings

A vibrant Asian bond market would allow for a part of the savings in the region to be recycled and re-invested in the region, said Zeti Akhtar Aziz, the governor of Bank Negara Malaysia.

Zeti also said a deeper and more liquid Malaysian domestic bond market was important for the development of the regional bond market. She said the Malaysian bond market had experienced a significant transformation over the past decade and that many initiatives by the central bank had spurred that development.
