Federal Reserve hints at possible rate hike in December

The Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) hinted on October 28 that it may raise rates in December, despite growth in the job market showing signs of slowing.

Committee members chose to leave the federal funds rate in the 0–0.25% range at the penultimate meeting of 2015, but continued to suggest rates could be raised this year, adding a reference to the "next meeting".

"In determining whether it will be appropriate to raise the target range at its next meeting, the committee will assess progress
