BIS data show rebound in OTC derivatives

The notional amount of over-the-counter derivatives trades outstanding bounced back to reach $605 trillion by the end of June, according to figures released by the Bank for International Settlements (BIS).

The figure is up 10% on the previous survey, which was released in May. It saw the notional value of OTC derivatives fall for the first time since surveying started in 1998 - dropping 13.4% to $592 trillion.
