Salameh - new Cabinet takes heat off pound

Lebanon's central bank governor Riad Salameh said that the pressure on the Lebanese pound had eased substantially since the formation of the new government and would continue to do so in the near future. "We expect the supply of dollars in the market to increase significantly in the next few weeks," Salameh said at a conference organized by the Union of the Arab Banks. He added that the central bank had not intervened this week to help shore up the Lebanese pound. The central bank did not say
