Qatar to keep riyal pegged to dollar

Abdullah al-Thani, the governor of the Qatar Central Bank, said that the riyal would remain pegged to the US dollar on Tuesday.

Al-Thani's announcement follows Kuwait's and Syria's decisions to abandon the dollar peg earlier this year, which have led to speculation that other Middle Eastern economies would follow suit.
