Data breakdowns reveal patterns in staffing, supervisory strategy and inspections

Central Banking’s first Supervision Benchmarks shed new light on how supervisory authorities operate around the world. The data includes responses from central banks and, in another first for the benchmarking service, authorities that sit outside the central bank.

The model banks analysis breaks the data down further to highlight differences between groups. In supervision, it becomes clear that emerging market economies (EMEs) have the biggest contingent of supervisory staff. As one would expect
