Three-fifths of central banks use strategic progress monitoring tools

Respondents with wider set of objectives report highest usage of tools

Just under three-fifths of central banks use dashboards or other performance management systems to track progress toward plans, data from the Strategic Planning Benchmarks 2026 reveals. 

Twenty-eight (63.6%) of 44 central banks report use of such tools for strategic monitoring. The figure is up from the 55% published in the 2025 benchmark.  Four respondents in the previous year reported adoption of a progress monitoring tool this year. 

Performance management systems are often useful to track
