Few central banks involve third parties in strategic plan development

Standard operational budgets remain leading source of funding

Central bank strategic plans are usually developed without the involvement of third parties, the Strategic Planning Benchmarks 2026 find. 

Nearly all central banks hold internal events to allow officials highlight and discuss key issues during the development of strategic plans. Forty (95.2%) of the 42 central banks that addressed the section say they take such actions.

But only slightly over a quarter of 40 central banks indicated that external strategy consultants (27.5%) are engaged to offer
