Over half of central banks employ strategic progress monitoring tools

Just a quarter of jurisdictions evaluate success with external means

More than half of central banks monitor progress towards their strategic plans with performance management systems and dashboards, the Strategic Planning Benchmarks 2025 find.

Twenty-two (55%) of 40 central banks that answered the question indicated use of monitoring tools in their jurisdictions.

A few central banks also make use of external evaluations to gauge the success of strategic plans, but the practice only applies in a quarter of institutions.
