How staff exodus could leave the OCC high and dry

A third of staff set to depart US regulator, but some teams will suffer much heavier losses

The US Office of the Comptroller of the Currency has already signalled its intention to cut headcount by almost one-third, but as a round of voluntary redundancies takes effect, sources tell sister title Risk.net the job losses are uneven, with some teams losing well over two-thirds of their staff. That is sparking concerns the prudential regulator may become unable to carry out some of its responsibilities adequately.
