A member of Ireland’s parliament has told Central Banking why he is threatening to take the country’s central bank to court over its role in approving the prospectuses for Israeli government bonds.

Gary Gannon, the member for Dublin Central, tells Central Banking that in approving the prospectuses, the Central Bank of Ireland (CBI) is in breach of its obligations under Irish and European Union law.
