Basel Committee chair says multidisciplinary teams are necessary to track ‘ever-changing’ system
Supervisory agencies need to adopt technology and rethink their processes to keep pace with the “ever-changing banking system”, Erik Thedéen said today (September 30).
The chair of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision told a conference in Bali that “modernisation” of supervisory processes had the potential to “free supervisors to think”, rather than simply enabling them to process more information.
Thedéen, who is also governor of the Sveriges Riksbank, noted that the word ‘modernisation’
