Olaf Sleijpen, the governor of the Netherlands Bank, is to become chair of the Network for Greening the Financial System (NGFS) with effect from July 1. The NGFS said on May 13 that Sleijpen’s appointment had been unanimously approved by its plenary members, following a recommendation by the group’s steering committee. 

He will take over from Sabine Mauderer, first deputy governor of the Deutsche Bundesbank, who is stepping down from the NGFS after two and a half years as chair and following two
