ECB spruces up premises with tree sculpture
Italian artist creates 17.5 metre sculpture of a tree using bronze and granite
A bronze and granite tree standing over 17 metres high was installed outside the European Central Bank (ECB) today (September 4) – one of three artworks to be displayed at its premises following an international competition last year.
The sculpture was created by Italian artist Giuseppe Penone and is called "Gravity and growth". It is located outside the main entrance of the ECB's new headquarters, occupied since November.
