The Central Bank of Sri Lanka today announced the appointment of four new assistant governors, including three experienced employees and another who is returning to the central bank after an 11-year secondment to the ministry of finance and planning.

The number of assistant governors at the central bank fell to seven in July when P Samarasiri was promoted to the post of deputy governor. Appointing four new assistant governors was, the central bank said, part of its ongoing succession planning.
